Keeping you safe
during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC

 Dear Southwest Hills Dentistry Family,

We have missed seeing your smiling faces over the last month. Gov. Kate Brown announced that dental offices can re-open for non-urgent care in May.

When you come to the office, here is what you can expect:

  • When scheduling an appointment you will be asked a couple of pre-screening questions to make sure you qualify for an in-person dental visit.

  • Unless necessary for your transportation we ask that you come alone to your appointment. If you need help getting to your appointment we ask that your accompanying party wait in the car.

  • We ask that you wear a mask from home and wear the gloves we provide to you during your entire visit to the office.

  • Reception area chairs are placed 6 ft apart and will be disinfected after each use, although we recommend standing if possible.

  • The front desk window will remain closed during check in and a barrier will be in place for check out.

  • Once you are brought back into the treatment area, you will notice large fans running, and windows and doors left open for maximum air circulation. Because of this precaution, we encourage you to dress in layers. We have also upped our supply of comfy blankets to keep you warm during your appointment. They will be washed after each use.

  • Before your appointment, we will take your temperature with a no-contact thermometer. If you have a fever, we cannot treat you and we will reschedule your appointment.

  • Once seated, you will be asked to do the pre-treatment swishing of specialty mouthwash.

As always, we will be vigilant with our disinfecting practices and expanding those same practices to our reception area and front desk. We understand that some of these new protocols might feel unfriendly, but that couldn’t be further from how we feel.  We are learning more everyday about the COVID-19 threat. At Southwest Hills Dentistry we feel it is important to return to treating non-emergent cases and play our role in keeping the community safe and healthy.
